Dear potential participant,
This is an invitation to participate in research being conducted by Dr Gaëlle Villejoubert.
Participation in the study involves the completion of a questionnaire as well as the provision of some background information. The questionnaire will involve questions about general knowledge and about various potentially risky activities (e.g., going camping in the wilderness). The questionnaire package should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may withdraw from participating in the study now, or at any point whilst completing the questionnaire. You will not be required to write your name; thereby assuring the information you provide will remain anonymous. Once data are collected, your results will form part of a larger database, from which only group data will be reported. Only the researcher, Dr Villejoubert, will have access to these data. Signing up for this study indicates that you understand the nature of the research and freely consent to participating in the study.
Participating in this study does not involve any risks other than what you would encounter in daily life. You may skip any questions you like or withdraw from the study at any time. Although participating may not entail any direct benefit to you, you may nevertheless enjoy answering questions about your personality and your opinions. Your participation in this study will also contribute to our understanding of important psychological processes.
If you have any concerns during or after the completion of the questionnaire, you are encouraged to discuss these at any time by email or telephone. Detailed summary of the results will be available towards the end of the year. If you are interested in receiving this information, please contact Dr Gaëlle Villejoubert for a summary to be posted out.
Thank you for your time and consideration in participating in the present study.
